It Takes Two To Tango

Since it takes two to tango, a good relationship between you and your dentist takes communication and effort. Here are a few dos and donts that will put you on the most valuable patient list:

1. Do listen carefully to your dental diagnosis and treatment options

2. Don’t be afraid to ask “silly”questions. If you are feeling anxious, you can’t always listen effectively. Ask questions if you feel that you don’t fully understand.

3. Make sure to become fully informed of all your options before making a final decision.
(“Just pull the tooth, doc,” or “Just patch that tooth up again.”)

4. Do you know how you digest information? For example, are you a “just the facts” type of person? Rather than a  you want to know all the technical details individual? Let the dental team know how to communicate with you and everyone will be more comfortable.

These are just a few simple ways to ensure that not only you get the best treatment options available, but also that the professionals working with you can help you best understand the treatment you’re receiving.  Which only means a better, brighter smile.
