Integrative Dentistry

The mouth is connected to the rest of the body. As such, we broaden the scope of only looking at the mouth to addressing other factors that are directly related to the form and function (or breakdown of) the mouth. A few of these contributing variables that we specifically look for and address are sleeping issues (such as snoring, apnea, and acid reflux), migraines, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and heart disease. The whole person and their health are of utmost importance to us and we are excited to help the individual in achieving not only their healthiest mouth but their best whole health as well.

One of the common misconceptions in modern dentistry is that a lack of fluoride causes cavities. Dental caries (cavities) are not a disease of fluoride deficiency! We can treat the whole person without the use of fluoride. What you eat, and when you eat it can be modified to change your risk. Building up your natural healthy bacteria can be very effective at changing how likely it is that you suffer from dental disease.

Silver fillings (amalgams) can tarnish and leak with time. Replacing them with restorations that strengthen and beautify the tooth is an excellent service offered in our dental office. We have developed techniques to safely remove silver fillings so that they cause no harm to the patient or to the environment. This practice is very important to us.
